Scots KO’d in MIAA

Alma College’s women’s basketball team was eliminated by Calvin University in the opening round of the MIAA tournament, losing 60-51 to conclude the Scots’ season.
Alma had its first made field goal of the night at 3:46, which saw the scoring pick up. At the end of the first, Alma trailed 18-12. The road team tussled for the lead with Calvin for several minutes, before the Knight took it back for what would turn out to be the final time with 4:42 to go in the third. The hosts tried to run away, but a late pair of free throws saw the Scots enter the fourth quarter trailing 42-39. In the final period, Calvin opened with a decisive 9-0 run that would turn out to be the difference. Despite a late push by the Scots, the was the Knights who would run out the clock.
