Notice of Public Hearing
The Gratiot County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at a meeting on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 5:00 p.m., at the Gratiot County Courthouse, 214 E Center St., Ithaca, MI 48847. The purpose of the hearing is to consider the request for a special land use permit by DTE Electric Company (“DTE”) to construct and operate a proposed Solar Farm in North Star Township referred to as the “Polaris Solar Project” pursuant to the Gratiot County Zoning Ordinance. The proposed Polaris Solar Project consists of, among other improvements, solar array equipment, an electrical collection system, fencing, and internal access roads. The Planning Commission will also consider, and review site plan materials submitted by DTE for the Polaris Solar Project at the May 3, 2023 meeting as part of a site plan review (as required for a special land use permit).

DTE’s application for the proposed Polaris Solar Project, including corresponding site plans, is available upon request to the County Permits Office at 118 S Main Street, Ithaca, MI, 48847, (989) 875-5201, or online at https://spicerplanning.wordpress.com. The application will also be available at the public hearing.
The County Planning Commission also will have a voluntary Zoom/video-conference option available for the above public hearing. Accordingly, to ensure participation in the meeting, please consider attending in person or submitting written comments.
Written comments on the special land use permit request will be received by the County Permits Office by mail or hand-delivery to 118 S Main Street, Ithaca, MI, 48847 and by e-mail to karla.guinn@hotmail.com (please address to Gratiot County Planning Commission). Individuals will also have the opportunity to address the Planning Commission during the public hearing to comment on the special land use permit request and the proposed Polaris Solar Project. Upon request, Gratiot County will provide auxiliary aids or services to individuals with disabilities. Individuals with disabilities requiring auxiliary aids or services who are planning to attend the public hearing should notify the County at (989) 875-5201 or utilize the Michigan Relay Service (7-1-1; T-D-D) at least two days in advance of the public hearing.

PUBLIC HEARING
A Regional Transportation Task Force meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, 10:00 a.m., at the office of the Saginaw County Road Commission, 3020 Sheridan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48605
The purpose of this meeting is to determine the transportation projects in the Region 7B Task Force for Small Urban and Rural, Federal STBG Program, and State D funds.
Bids For Asbestos Inspection
New Haven Township is taking bids for an asbestos inspection at the New Haven Church located at 9364 W. Buchanan Road, Sumner, MI. Bids are due no later than May 5, 2023.
