Fulton’s girls basketall team held Blanchard Montabella to 9-of-43 shooting in winning an MSAC contest last Thursday, 44-21.
Kaya Canfield scored 12 points to lead the Pirates, while Olivia Leavitt had 10 points. Avery Walden had six rebounds and two assists.
Fulton, 8-7, 7-4, lost a league game earlier last week to Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart, 32-26.
Abby Warnke was 3-of-3 from the floor and led Fulton with seven points, to go with seven rebounds and three assists.
Alexys Zeien led Sacred Heart with 10 points.
Fulton goest to MSAC second-place Carson City-Crystal tomorrow, Friday.
Sharks split
St. Louis dropped a TVC 10-II game last Friday against Michigan Lutheran Seminary, 46-40. MLS led 27-25 at the intermission before outscoring the Sharks by 10 in the third corner.
Josie Schrot had 18 points for St. Louis, which is 10-5, 1-4 in the league.
For Lutheran Seminary, Gab Wenzel scored 13 points, Julia Wenzel 12 points and Autumn Wakefield 11 points.
Schrot scored 24 in St. Louis’ 50-42 non-conference win over Webberville. The Sharks led 15-4 after the first quarter and held on from there.
Zoey Clarke scored 11 for St. Louis, while Monika Borie had eight points, six steals and four assists.
Ithaca loses pair
It was uncharted waters for Ithaca, losing back-to-back games for the first time in a productive, 12-3 season.
The Yellowjackets now have a partner atop the TVC 10-II standings, after falling last Friday to Saginaw Valley Lutheran, 54-48. Both are 4-1 in the league.
Delaney Seaman paced Ithaca with 20 points. Lauryn Humphrey scored 11.
This followed a 73-42 TVC crossover loss to 10-3 Hemlock, which is undefeated in the TVC 10-I.
Chloe Watson scored 25 points for Hemlock, making six from behind the arc, and Riley Finkbeiner had 19 points.
For Ithaca, Seaman had 15 points and Humphrey 11, with Natasha Nowakowski scoring nine.
Huskies beat Montabella
Breckenridge held Blanchard Montabella to single-digit scoring in three of four quarters, nearly doubling up the Mustangs, 50-27.
Megan Goward had 17 points, six rebounds, four assists and two seals for the Huskies. Also for Breckenridge, Ambre Willocq had seven points, four rebounds, two assists, and Ady Collins six points, nine rebounds and two assists.
Breckenridge lost an MSAC contest at home to Carson City-Crystal last Thursday, 37-23.
Megan Goward had nine points and three assists, while Tori Most scored six and Kayla Goward had six points and nine rebounds for Breckenridge, which is 7-7, 6-5 in the MSAC.
Alma beats Birch Run
Leading 39-30 going into the fourth quarter, Alma held Birch Run to six points the rest of the way to win a TVC-8 game last Friday at Birch Run, 57-36.
The Panthers put three players in double figures, with Jordan Cleeland scoring 14 ponts, Gracie Mellinger 11 points and Kendall Town 10 points. Ava Atchinson scored nine.
Alma lost last Tuesday at Swan Valley, 57-27. Mellinger scored 11 and Cleveland had seven points for the Panthers, who are 8-6, 4-4.
Bears lose to Merrill
Ellie Drummond had a double-double effort of 12 points and 14 rebounds for Ashley in a 53-23 loss last Friday to Merrill.
Marissa Brady and Karissa Brady both had five points and seven rebounds for the Bears.
“We got off to a very slow start again offensively, and that made it very tough for us to get back into the game,” Ashley coach Joe Shaw said.
Ashley was coming off a 48-19 loss to Coleman.
Marissa Brady had eight points, 11 rebounds and six steals; Karissa Brady four rebounds, 11 rebounds, three steals; and Marissa Brady eight points, 11 rebounds, six steals.
