Marilynn Dawn Palmer, 87 of Alma passed away Wed., June 4, 2025, at Masonic Pathways in Alma.
She was born on June 12, 1937, in Alma the daughter of Paul and Thelma (Rumberger) Sischo. She was a 1956 graduate of Alma High School. She married Phillip Southwell in 1959, and after his passing she later married Ralph “Scouty” Palmer in 1998. She worked for several years at Wolverine Worldwide, Plasta Fiber, and retired as a housekeeper from Gratiot Community Hospital.
She was a faithful member of the St. Louis Church of Christ and was a member of their choir for many years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine, the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries.
She is survived by her children, Paulette Hagerman, Mikki (Thomas Ireland) Hector, Charles Southwell, Tanya Herrick; 16 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sylvia Sischol and brother-in-law, Greg Bovee.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Phillip and Ralph; son-in-law, Gerald Herrick; two infant grandchildren; her parents and siblings, Garland and Tommy Sischo, Paula Bovee.
Funeral services were held on Mon., June 9, 2025, at the St. Louis Church of Christ. Interment followed in Richland Township Cemetery. Visitation was held on Monday until the time of services at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the St. Louis Church of Christ.
