The Gratiot Young Professionals Network will host its second annual Gratiot Brews & Bites on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. on State Street in downtown Alma.
The event, open to those 21 and older, serves as the group’s only fundraiser.
Last year’s inaugural gathering drew more than 150 people, and organizers expect attendance to grow. The evening will feature live music, games, food and beverages from local vendors.
Alma-based band Vent will return to perform, while 15 breweries and vineyards will offer beer, cider, and wine tastings. Food will be provided by Main Cafe and Block House, with menu items such as pulled pork sliders and brisket bruschetta.
New to theevent are custom mocktails from Child Advocacy’s Gratiot County Substance and Suicide Prevention Program, as well as specialty lemonades from Little Lemon.
“This event is such a fun way to showcase Michigan-based breweries, wineries, and restaurants while listening to local musical talent,” said event planning committee member Curtis Dancer. “It is cool to see the list of participating vendors grow from the first year and hopefully attendance will as well as the community continues to embrace all of the wonderful things Gratiot County has to offer.”
General admission tickets are $45 and include six drink tickets and three food vouchers. Designated driver tickets are $25 and include three food vouchers and three mocktail vouchers. Both ticket types include access to live music and yard games. They can be purchased at gratiotbrewsandbites.com.
Organizers are also seeking volunteers for the 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. shifts. Those who donate their time will receive free entry when not working. Help covering the later slot will get a $5 food voucher.
“We are so thankful for our volunteers. Gratiot Brews & Bites wouldn’t be possible without them,” said event Co-Chair Ashley Tupper. “Volunteering is such a fun way to join in the excitement, meet new people, and still enjoy the great food, drinks, and music. We can’t wait to welcome both returning and new volunteers to be part of the celebration.”
The Gratiot Young Professionals Network operates under the Gratiot Area Chamber of Commerce and provides networking, professional development, and service opportunities for young professionals in the area.
