City of Alma is hiring summer camp counselors: Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Parks and Recreation Program Coordinator, the Summer Camp Counselors will be responsible for supervising and ensuring the safety of youth campers during various recreational activities, leading recreational programs, teaching a variety of basic level learning skills, providing guidance and support to campers, and maintaining a fun, healthy, inclusive environment. Camp Counselors will also be asked to perform some general cleaning and light park maintenance to ensure that the area is safe and suitable for activities. Programs may include age-appropriate activities such as children’s games, sports, arts and crafts, theatre, nature exploration, swimming, and special themed programs as designed by the Parks and Recreation Program Coordinator. City of Alma is hiring a Sports Recreation Coordinator Intern: Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Parks and Recreation Program Coordinator & Finance Director/Treasurer, the Sports Recreation Coordinator Intern will be responsible for planning and overseeing all adult recreational sports leagues and tournaments for the City of Alma. These events may include, but are not limited to, adult co-ed softball, kickball, soccer, disc golf, ultimate frisbee, grass volleyball, and/or other events as determined by the Parks and Recreation Program Coordinator & Finance Director. The Sports Recreation Coordinator Intern will also assist with other Parks and Recreation Programming activities including summer camps and regular scheduled events. This position will also be expected to serve as a liaison between various sports organizations and the City of Alma to provide better recreational opportunities for the community.
