10 YEARS AGO – 2012
Panthers claim first league title in school history. In order to clinch its first TVC soccer crown, Alma had to overcome a rough rugged Ovid-Elsie side that battled the Panthers to a 0-0 draw in the teams’ first meeting on Sept. 19. Alma maintained its composure and had little trouble breaking through the Marauders normally staunch defense and winning 5-0.

20 YEARS AGO – 2002
Dr. Kent Kirby, a 1976 graduate of Ithaca High School, who is now a urologist practicing in Niles, has once again been named one of “America’s Best Doctors”. This is the 4th time Kirby has had the honor of being recognized this way by his peers.
Will Lauer and his family of North Star Township have donated 10 acres of corn to the Food Resource Bank, a non-profit organization that helps provide food for the hungry.

30 YEARS AGO – 1992
Carson City Hospital officers broke ground for a two-story addition to the facility.
Amy Smith, daughter of Larry and Sally Ann Smith, was named the 1992 Alma homecoming queen.
Tricia Hill, daughter of Gary and Amber Hill, was crowned Ithaca High School homecoming queen.
