Alma takes doubleheader from Breckenridge

Alma’s softball team swept a non-conference doubleheader at Breckenridge last Friday, 5-3 and 13-3.
Shelby Sparks won the first game, going the distance and striking out three.
At the plate for Alma, Sparks and Teagan Adams both had three hits, including a double for each. Sydney Allison also had three hits. Shaniya Simcox had a base hit RBI.
Adyson Collins pitched for Breckenridge. In seven innings she allowed three earned runs while striking out three.
Emma Tinson homered for the Huskies. Lily St. John had a base hit RBI. Collins, Lauralei McGill, Ava Colthorp also had hits.
Reese Mueller started and Sparks came in for relief in the second game.
Adams and Simcox both had two hits, with Adams driving in two runs.
Leah Wale pitched for Breckenridge. In three innings she struck out one.
Collins and Lydia Slavik both had two its. Collins, Colthorp and Wale had RBI.
Sharks sweep, twice
St. Louis won a Jack Pine Conference doubleheader last Friday at West Branch Ogemaw Heights, winning 4-1 and 4-0.
Paige Luneack stuck out six in the opener for the Sharks.
Hitting for St. Louis, Halley Hoyt and Morgan Leonard had three hits each. Ellie Katt and Kenadie Henry had two hits each.
Luneack won the second game as well. She allowed just two hits while striking out eight.
Luneack, Katt and Henry all had two hits.
The day prior St. Louis beat Harrison at home, 16-1 and 19-3.
Luneack won both games, striking out 10 in the second.
Hoyt and Katt had three hits in the first game. Henry and Brynn Saxton had two apiece.
In the second game, Katt had three hits, while Hoyt, Henry and Scottlynn Francisco had two hits each./[private]
