The Alma High School “Student of the Month” for December was Brandon Mills, the son of Eric and Billie Sanko and Brian Mills.
Brandon has interacted with organizations and groups such as National Honor Society, Health Occupation Student Association and the Alma High School Band. He has been one of three drum majors for the AHS marching band for two years as an active leader and conductor. He has also been performing in the Alma High School Jazz Ensemble since his freshman year playing the alto saxophone.
Throughout high school, he has worked to maintain a grade point average of 3.8 while also partaking in courses related to anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and healthcare. Because of both Alma’s Career Technology Education Health Occupations program and HOSA, he has gained a profound interest in all healthcare related fields.
Brandon plans to attend Central Michigan University in the fall of 2022 to obtain his bachelor’s degree in neuroscience or pre-med. After receiving his degree he intends to pursue medical school in hopes of M.D. certification.
