NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION

Notice of a special election of directors for the Gratiot Conservation District
To all residents of Gratiot County, notice is hereby given that a special election of board directors for the Gratiot Conservation District will be held on Wednesday, July 1st, 2026.
The following individuals are up for election:
Bonnie Gustavison, of Perrinton, MI — appointed to Seat B in August 2025; now up for election to that seat.
Marissa Clark-Baily, of Alma, MI, was appointed to fill a vacancy in Seat C in July 2025 and is now up for election to that seat.
Yvette Franco-Clark, of Alma, MI, was appointed to fill a vacancy in Seat E in July 2025 and is now up for election to that seat.
All residents of Gratiot County, eighteen years and older, are encouraged to vote. Absentee Ballots can be picked up at the Gratiot Conservation District Office, 301 E. Commerce Dr., Ithaca, MI 48847 (the office on the east side of the building), up to one week prior to election day. Per State Conservation Law, a valid driver’s license is required to vote.

Public Notice of Public Hearing: The Gratiot County Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing at the regularly scheduled meeting Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026 at 5:00pm in the Board of Commissioner’s Room Level 1 of Gratiot County Courthouse 214 E. Center Rd., Ithaca, MI 48847 regarding Special Land Use Permit Application for Special Land Use: Theaters, or Similar Places of Public Assembly as submitted for Parcel #14-001-005-30. The Public Hearing is the opportunity for property owners to voice questions, comments, and/or concerns related to the request. The SLUP application can be viewed in the Community Development Office during regular business hours at 214 E Center St. Ithaca, MI 48847. CITY OF ALMA/CITY OF ST LOUIS
33rd ANNUAL
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION PROGRAM
June 2, 3, & 4, 2026

The City of Alma along with the City of St Louis will be sponsoring its Thirty Third Annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program on June 2, 3, & 4, 2026. Solid waste customers desiring to use this service should call (989) 463-8030 to schedule an appointment to drop off their material at the Alma Public Works garage located at 800 Washington Street. Customers are encouraged to utilize this service to dispose of all unwanted waste typically considered hazardous and not permitted to be placed with the weekly trash collection services. Examples of these include:

Pesticides and Herbicides
Solvents, Strippers and Turpentine
Paints-Oil based and Latex
Rodent Baits
Chemical Household Cleaners and Acids
Auto Fluids-Antifreeze and Lubricants
Pool/Spa Chemicals
Household and Automotive Batteries
Pressurized tanks (i.e. fire extinguishers, LP tanks, etc.)
Fluorescent light bulbs (tubes only)

ALSO

Passenger and Light Truck Tires*

*Will not accept OTRs which include loader tires, airplane tires, solid/gel filled tires, forestry tires, logging tires, mining tires, earth mover tires, golf tires with rim, rubber tracks of any kind, nor tires with excessive dirt and parts or shreds of tires.

All items to be disposed of must be in original containers. Unidentified substances cannot be accepted. Leaky items should be placed in a plastic or metal container with a secure top. Containers are limited in size to 5-gal or 40lbs in weight. Substances should not be mixed together.

The following items CAN NOT be accepted:
Gasoline
Ammunition or Explosives
Radioactive Materials (i.e. smoke detectors)

No Dried Paint or Empty Paint Cans
Unidentifiable Materials
E-Waste (electronics, computers, cell phones)

Prescription Medication
Alma Police Department is a collection site
Outdated or Unused Medications in original containers (Pills only)

Sharps (Needles)
Gratiot Community Mental Health is a Sharps collection site

This program is only available to City of Alma/City of St Louis Solid Waste customers. There is no direct charge for this service as costs incurred for the Household Hazardous Waste program are assessed in customer billing. Identification will be required at the drop off site. For additional information, please call the Alma Public Works Department at (989) 463-8030, or Alma City Hall at (989) 463-8336.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
City of Ithaca Property Owners and Taxpayers

Notice is hereby given, as required by Chapter VII Section E of the City Charter, that a public hearing on the proposed City Budget for the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 will be held Tuesday, June 2nd at 5:30pm or as soon thereafter as the agenda allows during the regular meeting of the Ithaca City Council. The meeting location is at the City Hall located at 129 W. Emerson St, Ithaca, MI.
The proposed property tax millage rates to be levied and the water and sewer rates to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing.
A copy of the proposed budget is on file at the City Hall in the City Clerk’s Office and on the city website for public inspection prior to the public hearing. If unable to attend, written comments may be submitted to the City Clerk by 4pm on June 2, 2026 at the above address or by email to clerk@ithacami.com.
