NOTICE OF ADOPTION
ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT
BETHANY TOWNSHIP
GRATIOT COUNTY, MICHIGAN
ORDINANCE NO. 2024-2

Please take notice that on November 12, 2024, the Township Board of Bethany Township adopted Ordinance No. 2024-2, which amends the Zoning Ordinance to add regulations relating to the use of certain categories of solar energy projects to generate electrical energy within Bethany Township. Copies of the Zoning Ordinance Amendment may be obtained from Tracy Howd, Bethany Township Clerk, at 9958 North Blair Road, Breckenridge, MI 48615.
The Zoning Ordinance Amendment provides, in summary, for the establishment of certain uses related to solar energy systems within Bethany Township. The Zoning Ordinance Amendment has the following sections and catch lines: Section 1: Amends Section 2.2 to define relevant terms; Section 2: Amends Sections 8.3 and 9.3 to add “Community Solar Energy System” as a special use in the Commercial and Industrial districts; Section 3: Amends Section 15.13(R) to provide supplemental regulations for approval of a special use permit for community solar energy systems; Section 4: Provides for severability of the Ordinance if any part is deemed invalid; Section 5: Effectuates the Ordinance as provided by the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act; Section 6: repeals all conflicting ordinances.

Resolution 2024-12 was passed – Resolution to Renew the Combined Board of Review Interlocal Agreement

Planning Comm to work on battery storage ordinance
Teeter issued one permit
Additional maintenance items to be reviewed after first of year

The Saint Louis City Council will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 6:00 P.M. or as soon thereafter as the agenda permits to receive comments on the 137 North Mill Street Demolition.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission for Seville Township will hold a special meeting and public hearing on December 17, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the Township Hall, 8143 W. Madison Rd., Elwell, MI 48832. The purpose of the public hearing will be to consider amendments to the Township’s Zoning Ordinance regarding (1) wind energy projects, (2) solar energy projects and (3) battery energy storage projects within the Township including, but not limited to, setbacks, noise, decommissioning and other requirements. The proposed amendments would also create a Renewable Energy Overlay Zoning District comprised of the following properties:

The Planning Commission is receiving written comments concerning the proposed amendments at the Township Hall 8143 W Madison Rd, Elwell, MI 48832.
Comments must be received by the Township prior to, or during the public hearing.
This notice is posted in compliance with the Open Meetings Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act and published in compliance with the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act, 2006 P.A. 110.
