Request for Proposal:
Gratiot County and Gratiot County Community Airport are seeking proposals for tree trimming and removal of specified trees.
Purpose:
Remove or top trees surrounding airport in compliance with FAA regulations for specified height.
Project Scope:
The table below includes trees to either be removed or topped. The trees are located on private property, west of Ely Highway-Runway 9 Section 20, Arcada Township.
Specifications: 1st Area:
All trees are marked with orange paint and a ribbon. Tops and branches are to be chipped and removed from the site. Tree logs will also need to be removed from the site. Seven trees are located near Consumer Power Lines. The scope of work will be posted on at www.gratiotcounty.com under RFP section.
Specifications for 2nd area:
All trees are marked with oragne paint and a ribbon. Tops and branches are to be chipped and removed from the site unless the property owner wants to retain the chips. Tree logs will also need to be removed from the site. The scope of work will be posted on at www.gratiotcounty.com under RFP section.
All Contractors bidding on this job must be licensed and insured and furnish proof of insurance to Gratiot County before work commences.
Staff will be on site to show those who wish to submit a quote the different locations for each tree that will need to be either trimmed, topped or cut down. Notice is hereby given that at a meeting of the Board of County Road Commissioners of the County of Gratiot held at Ithaca, Michigan on the 23rd day of May, 2024, it was determined that a portion of Park Street and Maple Street in the Village of Sickels herein described shall be ABSOLUTELY ABANDONED AND DISCONTINUED:
Park Street between Block 4 and 5 and Maple Street north of Park Street and north of Lots 8, 9, and 10 of Block 4 in the 1882 plat of the Village of Sickels. Park Street is 66 feet in width, 256.5 feet in length.
Maple Street is 33 feet in width, 301 feet in length, located in Section 5, Hamilton Township, Gratiot County, Michigan.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PROPOSED ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT
The North Shade Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on June 17, 2024 at 6:00 P.M. (following a variance public hearing of the zoning board of appeals), at the North Shade Township Hall located at the corner of Roosevelt and Warner Roads, Carson City, Michigan 48811, to consider a proposed amendment to the North Shade Township Zoning Ordinance. If adopted, the proposed ordinance amendment would, in summary, reduce the rear yard setback requirement for all zoning districts to 30 feet, consistent with Michigan law, for the public health, safety, and general welfare of residents and visitors to North Shade Township.
Copies of the proposed Zoning Ordinance amendment are available upon request to the Township Clerk using the contact information below. Written comments on the proposed Zoning Ordinance amendments will be received at the Township Clerk’s mailing address and e-mail address below, up to and including the day of the public hearing.
North Shade Township will provide auxiliary aids or services to individuals with disabilities. The Drain Commissioner, engineers and/or other staff members will be available to assist individuals throughout the day and make revisions where necessary. There is no need to schedule an appointment for a specific time on the Day of Review. The computation of costs for the drains will also be available at the Day of Review. Drain assessments are collected in the same manner as property taxes and will appear on your winter tax bill. If drain assessments are being collected for more than one (1) year, you may pay the assessment in full with any interest to date at any time and avoid further interest charges.
Persons with disabilities needing accommodations for effective participation in the Day of Review should contact the Drain Commissioner’s Office at the number noted above (voice) or through the Michigan Relay Center at 7-1-1 (TDD) at least 24 hours in advance of the Day of Review to request mobility, visual, hearing, or other assistance.
Comments on the apportionment of benefits may be submitted to the Drain Commissioner in writing before the date of the Day of Review to the Gratiot County Drain Commissioner at 904 E Center Street, Ithaca, MI 48847 or to bbarnes@gratiotmi.com, or comments may be submitted in writing or verbally at the Day of Review. Comments submitted in advance must be received by the Drain Commissioner prior to the Day of Review to ensure consideration.
You may appeal the Drain Commissioner’s decision to revise the district boundary to the Gratiot County Circuit Court within ten (10) days. You may appeal the Drain Commissioner’s determination of apportionments to the Gratiot County Probate Court within ten (10) days.
