The North Shade Township Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed township budget for fiscal year 2024-2025 at the North Shade Township Hall on Monday, March 18, 2024, immediately following the regular board meeting, which begins at 7:00 p.m. The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing. To obtain a copy of the proposed budget, call the township clerk at 989-584-6000.

March 5, 2024 4:30 p.m. – Organizational Meeting
March 11, 2024 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
March 14, 2023 – 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Bills were reviewed and approved for payment.
Complaints regarding gravel on road. Will discuss with Road Commission
New solar legislation will change setbacks.
MMWA will be placing organce tags on non-compliant items
Presidential Primary – February 27th
New Ballot Box to be installed when received.

Notice of Adoption of Consumers Energy
Gas Franchise Ordinance
Ordinance No. 1-24
Please take notice that on Jan. 9, 2024, the Township Board of Elba Township adopted Ordinance No. 1-24, to grant to Consumers Energy Company, its successors and assigns, the right and authority to lay, maintain and commercially operate gas lines and facilities including but not limited to mains, pipes, services and on, under, along, and across public places including but not limited to highways, streets, alleys, bridges, and waterways, and to conduct a local gas business in the township of Elba, Gratiot County, Michigan, for a period of 30 years. Copies of the Consumers Energy Gas Franchise Ordinance may be obtained from Madalin, Elba Township Clerk, at 102 Quarterline Street, Ashley, MI 48806.
The Zoning Ordinance Amendment has the following sections and catch lines: Section 1, Grant and Term; Section 2. Conditions; Section 3. Indemnification and Duty to Defend; Section 4. Extensions; Section 5. Franchise not Exclusive; Section 6. Rates and Conditions; Section 7. Revocation; Section 8/ Michigan Public Service Commission Jurisdiction; Section 9. Repealer; Section 10. Effective Date, which shall be on Jan. 9, 2024; and Section 11; Severability.
