NOTICE OF ADOPTION     

FULTON TOWNSHIP CEMETERY ORDINANCE

Please take notice that on October 2, 2023, the Township Board of Fulton Township adopted Ordinance No. 40, which regulates the Fulton Township Cemeteries.  Copies of the Ordinance may be obtained at the Fulton Township Office and on the Fulton Township website, at:  www.fultontwp.com.

This Ordinance provides, in summary, the regulations for the Fulton Township Cemeteries.  The Ordinance has the following sections and catch lines:  Section 1 Title;   Section 2: Purpose and Intent;   Section 3: Definitions;  Section 4: Records; Section 5: Sale of Cemetery Burial Sites; Section 6: Transfer of Burial Sites;  Section 7: Purchase Price for Cemetery Burial Sites;  Section 8: Burial Site Opening Charges;  Section 9: Monument and Marker Location, Materials and Foundation;  Section 10: Interment Regulations;  Section 11: Disinterment;  Section 12: Cremains;  Section 13: Forfeiture of Vacant Cemetery Burial Spaces;  Section 14: Repurchases of Burial Spaces; Section 15: Cemetery Hours;  Section 16: Prohibited Uses and Activities;  Section 17: Decoration of Burial Sites;  Section 18: Authority of the Fulton Township Management to Remove Unauthorized or Unlawful items from Fulton Township Cemeteries;  Section 19: Ordinances Repealed;  Section 20: Municipal Civil Infractions;  Section 21: Effective Date.  This Ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after publication of this Notice.

ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT

BETHANY TOWNSHIP

GRATIOT COUNTY, MICHIGAN

ORDINANCE NO. 2023-07

Please take notice that on October 10, 2023, the Township Board of Bethany Township adopted Ordinance No. 2023-07, which amends the Bethany Township Zoning Ordinance to remove Large Solar Energy Systems from Section 7.3 to reflect that Large Solar Energy Systems are provided for within the Solar Energy Overlay; and renumber Section 7.5 Solar Energy Overlay as new Article 7A and renumber all corresponding sections within new Article 7A accordingly. Copies of the Zoning Ordinance Amendment may be obtained from Tracy Howd, Bethany Township Clerk, at 9958 N. Blair Rd., Breckenridge, MI 48916.

The Zoning Ordinance Amendment has the following sections and catch lines: Article 1: Amendment to Zoning Ordinance Article 7, Section 7.3; Article 2: Amendment to Zoning Ordinance Article 7, Section 7.5; Article 3: Form; Article 4: Repeal; Article 5: Savings Clause; Article 6: Severability; Article 7: Effective date, which is seven days after this publication.

Charter Amendment Proposal

Shall the Charter of the City of Ithaca be amended for the purpose of providing emergency services equipment and operations in the City by levy and collection of one and one-half (1.50) additional mills per year for four (4) years, beginning in 2024?  If approved, it is estimated that 1.50 mills would raise approximately $109,202 when first levied in 2024.

All electors who are registered with the township or city clerk in which they reside are eligible to vote at this election.  Sample ballots can be found at www.mi.gov/vote.  To comply with the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), voting instructions will be available in audio format and in Braille.  Arrangements for obtaining the instructions in these alternative formats can be made by contacting the township clerk in advance of the election.  All polling locations are accessible for voters with disabilities.
