Nominations Requested for Order of the Tartan Award

[private]The 2022 Annual Order of the Tartan Award nominations are being requested by the Order of the Tartan Selection Committee. Nominations are due Monday, March 16, 2023.
The Order of the Tartan is the prestigious annual award made by the Gratiot Area Chamber of Commerce to an Alma area community member who has demonstrated outstanding service to the community. Anyone may nominate a deserving candidate.
Information about nominating a candidate and the form required may be obtained by writing or calling the Gratiot Area Chamber of Commerce (110 W. Superior St. PO Box 516, Alma; 463.5525).
Guidelines to consider in nominating candidates include: service to the community through work with service organizations, other volunteer work, accomplishments through community life and in business relationships, exhibiting leadership in directing others to help bring about significant community achievement, demonstration of other outstanding traits over a number of years, and contributions of an enduring nature. The nominees must be, or have been, living working, or serving in the Alma area. Candidates who have relocated or passed away may be nominated.
The Selection Committee is composed of previous Order of the Tartan Awardees who are still living. The 2022 award will be presented at the Gratiot Area Chamber Community Celebration to be held on May 4, 2023.
