NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PROPOSED ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT

FOR TEMPORARY MORATORIUM ON LARGE SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEMS

 

The Bethany Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on November 7, 2022, at 7 p.m., at the Bethany Township Hall, 9958 North Blair Road, Breckenridge, MI 48615, to consider proposed amendments to the Bethany Township Zoning Ordinance that would adopt a new section of the Zoning Ordinance to establish a temporary moratorium on the approval, location, erection, construction, and/or installation of Large Solar Energy Systems within Bethany Township until June 30, 2023.

A copy of the proposed zoning ordinance amendment is available for inspection at the Bethany Township Hall, 9958 North Blair Road, Breckenridge, MI 48615, and also will be available for inspection at the public hearing. Written comments on the proposed ordinance amendments will be received by the Township at the Township Hall prior to the public hearing or at the public hearing. Oral comments may also be made at the public hearing.

Bethany Township will provide auxiliary aids or services to individuals with disabilities. Persons needing such services should contact the office of the township clerk by writing or calling the clerk not less than four (4) days before the public hearing.

Special Use Permit

The City of Ithaca Planning Commission will hold a Regular Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 7:00 PM or as soon thereafter for a Special Use Permit as submitted by David & Scott Roslund; for approval of an accessory building (30’x60’) on property located at 401 S. St. Johns Street. (identified as parcel 52-050-002-21).

If unable to attend, written comments may be submitted to the City Clerk by 4:00 PM on Monday, November 7, 2022 at City Hall or e-mailed to clerk@ithacami.com.

ELECTION NOTICE

CITY OF ITHACA ELECTORS

Notice is hereby given that the Public Accuracy Test for the November 8, 2022 State General Election will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 10:00am.  Testing will be conducted at the Ithaca Community Center, 120 N Maple St., Ithaca, Michigan.

The Public Accuracy Test is conducted to demonstrate that the computer equipment and programs that will be used to count and tabulate the votes cast at the election are done so in the manner prescribed by law.

The Gratiot County Drain Commissioner will hold a Day of Review of Drainage District boundaries and Review of Apportionments on the above date, time and location.

The Day of Review is an opportunity to review the Drain #031 Easlick Drainage District Boundaries, and to review the tentative apportionment of benefits for each parcel and municipality within the Drainage District.  This process is to verify accuracy of the drainage district prior to assessment.  A map of the proposed Drainage District boundary revisions can be found of the Gratiot County website at: www.gratiotmi.com/201/Drain-Commissioner .

A general description of the lands by section number proposed to be added or deleted from the Drainage District as recommended by a licensed professional engineer or surveyor for each of the Drains is as follows:

Drain assessments are collected in the same manner as property taxes and will appear on your winter tax bill. If drain assessments are being collected for more than one (1) year, you may pay the assessment in full with any interest to date at any time and avoid further interest charges.  We will start accepting payments after November 15, 2022.

Persons with disabilities needing accommodations for effective participation in the Day of Review should contact the Drain Commissioner’s Office at the number noted above (voice) or through the Michigan Relay Center at 7-1-1 (TDD) at least 24 hours in advance of the Day of Review to request mobility, visual, hearing or other assistance.

Minutes for Regular Meeting on October 11, 2022

Meeting was called to order by Mikek at 7:00 p.m.

  • Minutes for September 13th read and approved
  • Bills were reviewed and approved for payment
  • CD funds that matured to reinvested- Fowler looking into options
  • Resolution to Approve Mid Michigan Waste Authority Member Agreement approved by board
  • Resolution to Adopt Unilateral Telecommunications Permit approved by board
  • Conflict of interest notice from Fahey Schultz Burzych Rhodes was accepted
  • Painting of the hall was approved to be scheduled by Mikek
  • Permit for bridge project on Jefferson Road over Bush Creek Drain was received from EGLE
  • General Election is on November 8th.
  • Due to election, board approved the moving of the regular meeting for November to Wednesday, November 9th at 7:00 pm.

Meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
