Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

AFFORDABLE HEATLH CARE FOR ALL

In June 2010, I suffered a slip and fall followed by an ER visit and a CAT scan because the doctor said the intense pain was my liver and we should take a look.

All was well, just a bruise with swelling and some bleeding under the skin and I went back home wondering how much money I had just spent with no health insurance.

The bill came in just this last week, $4086.60, for an hour of the hospital’s time.

I’m just thinking, the newspaper should start printing this stuff, just like they do the Court News.

Larry Clark, Sumner, one hour ER visit, $4086.60.

We are going to want good documentation when that one hour in the ER visit jumps to $10,000 overnight because our new mandatory health insurance is sending trillions of dollars from the working class to big insurance companies, who’s only job is to cover whatever the medical industry tells them the bill is.

It will be just as advertised, “Affordable health care for all,” and open season on the funds.

Our mandatory auto insurance is up to an average $2000 a year per driver, but that will seem low when mandatory health insurance hits us.

We should know better by now, Social Security, Medicare, Public Schools, All Government!, enjoyed a silver spoon to start, but can we who are forced to pay say any of it is going well today?

It’s ironic that President Lincoln is created for ending slavery and most of our government today just locked all of us into a slave nation once again that will put bother against bother, and very poor against very very rich.

To the Editor:

Too much to drink?

I am writing in reference to the case against Heather Zender. She has been accused of consuming too much alcohol and accidently smothering her 9 month old baby Isaac Zender. The facts have yet to be proven but as someone close I can tell you she was not an out of control drunk. She lived with me 6 months then was pregnant, I never knew of her to have a problem. She was a close copy of June Cleaver as a wife and mother. Above average clean home, fresh from scratch baked goods – you just don’t see that much anymore and that baby was her life, not a spot of food on that bib!

Just so happens the baby had 3 contributors to SIDS (mothers take note):

  1. Had RSV 1 month prior to death.

  2. Suffered from GERD (Gastral Esophogus Reflux).

  3. Broken sleep pattern.

Heather took her husband to work on 3rd shift so had to get the baby up.

I believe he went peaceful in his sleep of SIDS.

You can judge if you like but I’ll leave it to our Lord.

Dear Editor:

I would like to thank those that organized the 2010 Ithaca Home Town Fun Fest. Their hard work paved the way to yet another successful event. I would like to also thank my wonderful wife Janel, my daughter Michaiah, my son Ryan and all the other awesome residents of Ithaca and the surrounding areas that both supported and voted me to be Mr. Ithaca 2010. It’s nice to know that all the hard work that goes into running AYSO Region 1163 is recognized and supported by the community.

I would like to take a minute and also say thank you to the members of my board because without their hard work and dedication it wouldn’t be possible to run a successful youth soccer program for our community.

My family and I are very proud to be part of such a great community and town. You are awesome Ithaca!

Sincerely, Trent Reynolds AKA: Mr. Ithaca 2010
